Sickness Self-Certification period
- Increased from 7 days to 28 days.
- Anyone whose illness started after 10th December 2021 will only be able to get a free Fit Note from their GP after 28 days.
- This is for any illness, not just COVID related.
- Any employees self-isolating due to COVID can still get their Isolation Note from the NHS online. https://111.nhs.uk/isolation-

Attach to an internal note any completed docs or forms for Mat/Paternity/Isolation leave labelling it so and put note on internal note of the dates. - Isolation needs to have evidence so an email from NHS for it to be accepted.

Self-Isolation Period due to COVID
- Isolation period is now 5 full days as of 18th Jan 2022 (previously it has been 10, then 7 days)
- To stop isolation period, employee must has negative lateral flows on days 6 and 7, taken 24 hours apart and is fully vaccinated (this means two vaccination doses).
- Those who end isolation are still advised to limit close contact.
- Those who are unvaccinated must still self-isolate for the full 10 days.
